Is there anything or anywhere nearby I can tiw in with my trip? Work are flying me there, so I can tack some extra days on before or after. But I know nothing about that region, except that Niagara Falls is close by.

PS. I'd rather see sights than shops and Im very willing to hire a car.

CN Tower is a must, i was in toronto for a month last march and the views were fantastic.
I didn't bother with Niagra personally as it was a bit of a pain to get there.
I was more interested in the bars to be honest, of which shoeless joes was rather appealing..

Oh, and take a coat, scarf and gloves, and beware the falling ice!

If you don't want to drive, all the Toronto hotels do day trips usually including a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake, a super place to wander around (bit like Carmel in California). Can recommend this especially as you're in Canada not USA, which is much the better side.

Check the weather forecast before you depart. It can still be seriously cold in March.

Niagara is worth the trip. The view buffet up the Skylon are worth a trip.

Enjoy your visit.

Have a bimble north into the 'real' Canada - head towards Sudbury and you'll soon get to see some nice stuff.

Niagara is a good day out but not really much more. Day trip / train to Ottawa / Montreal?

+1 for CN tower, go and see a baseball game if there is one on, hockey hall of fame is quite good and there are plenty of nice parks dotted around. Ride a tram to one maybe?

This is more what Im thinking, though I have heard the weather will be bitter, so slightly concerned it will just be a snowy tundra of nothing. I like moutains.

If there is a straight-forward day trip from the hotel to Niagara, Ill probably do that. Least I can say Ive done it then.

Thanks for the tips so far chaps.

Niagra is easy by Greyhound (just to say you have been on a Greyhound) skylon tower at Niagra is good, maid of the mist essential, but it's a day trip.
CN tower is excellent (glass floor) and there are loads of other things to see

More than 4 days in Toronto might get quite dull on the tourist trail. We did go to the Zoo as they have Prezwalski horses and the missus wanted to see them.

thanks mr sarcastic.

very helpful. slightly longer than 1 hours drive to be pedantic, i didn't have a car when i was there, and it worked out to two train journeys at considerably longer than an hour.
