Lively Birthday meal in and around London?
Discussion
Currently booked in at Benihana in Picadilly for the GF's birthday along with 12 friends.
We've been thinking though, not sure if this is the best place? We're after somewhere with a bit of an atmosphere that can cater for 12-14 people, that we can all have have a fun evenign with drinks, and not be turned around and booted off our table within an hour and a half.
Ideally looking for somewhere we can spend the whole evening enjoying the food and drink. Maybe a tasting menu or something? Need to keep it to sort of 50-60 quid a head max really. Any ideas?
Had a look at Rodizio Preto in Putney, which is supposed to be pretty good...?

Just a different chain I guess - Atmosphere in Islington is good, always quite lively and a few places to meet nearby and go on afterwards should you desire. The O2 was a little subdued - big place just doesn't seem to have caught on just yet. Not been to the other two - The meat is excellent and I would readily eat there weekly
Depending on which Belgo you went to... The one on Clapham High St would let you sit there all night but the one in Covent Garden was quite strict in enforcing a two hour table time for us.
There are some good bars along Curtain Road in Shoreditch that would let you sit there all night and do a nice range of food.
Or you could look for some kind of Tapas bar, they will always let you sit all night and the food will just keep coming and coming along with the beer and wine!
