Its not every day a TVR meets the USS Enterprise

Thought I'd share a couple of pics taken of the giant American Carier off our beach at present. Been here for four days now and apparently it will have contributed many millions to the local economy .

Stokes Bay, in the Solent just to the West of Portsmouth harbour. I think she leaves tomorrow. Funny thing is that she is too large to get through the harbour entrance .
Had the Frence 'Charles De Gaul' in the other week too .

Snozz, perhaps you won't remember when 5th Ave was called SPECS (Some Place Else Club Southsea)...best thing about it was the name! Then of course there was the Tricorn Club (later Grannies!)...nuf said!

no, you are correct I dont remember it when it was SPECS. Its now Time/Envy and split so that the part of teh club that used to be "Images" is now a sort of interlocking club

Tricorn looks better now then ever before. Half of it has been smashed down!

Toms use to drive down by the bus load when the ships were in (alledgedly!)..... so it may be bringing millions in but not much of it is taxable!!!

I used to go in there when I didnt meet the dress code of other places but wanted another drink after 11:00.

It was below a solicitors wasn't it?
I just remember the ceiling being so low that people used to bang their hands while dancing!

We went down on Sunday for a look. Has the submarine escort docked this year ? I remember the last time the Enterprise was here, one of its Submarine escorts ... Los Angeles Class Attack Sub was mored

I went to Gun Wharf last week and the place was full of them. I think Tiger Tiger may have become the new Joannas!
