Tyre clearances help..
Discussion
I have 205/55/16's fitted but am thinking of getting some 215/60/16 's
Black circle give me two options when i put in my reg...
205/60R15 V 91
215/55R16 W 93
My audi has standard sport suspension and looks like it has plenty of clearance front and rear between arch and tyre.
Would it be an issue if i decided to go up a size as it were? What are the implications?
Any help and advice appreciated.

Well my speedo reads out by around 5mph against gps so not fussed there.
Also as said it seems there are two size options for my car according to bc 215/60 and 205/55.
I really dont care about fuel as its all paid for and whilst the tyres are on the car i can live with the adjustment in speed.
So i think on that basis i am just going to say f
k it and order the tyres. Its a one off anyway.

First quote looks about right, second quote looks wrong. Your proposed upsize isn't really an option from Black Circles is it? You should be getting 215/55 to upsize.Tallbut Buxomly said:

Right, so you're being beaten to death by appalling ride quality. Ideally you'd get some smaller diameter wheels and then fit the higher profile tyres. Leaving that aside, I can't imagine the 60s will cause any great difficulties and will certainly improve the ride - so long as they're a decent brand.Another option is to talk to a tyre specialist and just replace your existing tyres like-for-like with a type specifically engineered for good ride quality. There can be big differences between on tyre and another tyre at the same dimensions.

Why do you want to upsize? It looks like you're running smaller tyres than standard anyway so why not just go to the standard 215/55?
Well upsize is maybe the wrong way to phrase it. Was looking at a set of winters which are 215/60 as apposed to what my car come with at 205/55.Not a permanent change just these tyres for winter and then back to my normal.

Ok. Well there's only 5% increase in circumference, so it won't make huge difference IMO.
Btw are they new tyres? It's just I have some winters in that size i've been meaning to put on eBay.
Ahem.
No part used around 6/7mm on em apparently set of four nokian m+s winters. 140 quid delivered seems a reasonable deal to get me through the next three or four months as am expecting snow in the next two months.Btw are they new tyres? At which point i will have a better idea hopefully of whether the car will need massive amounts of money spending to keep it going and therefore whether i will need to seriously considering retiring and replacing it.
Present michelin all weather are shagged and at the best part of 100+ a corner not thrilled at the idea of paying out for a full new set since i already had to replace two of them early from road damage over the last 6/7 months.
Depending what you have and whether i am going to keep the audi i may be interested for next winter.
