I am in the process of trying to finalise a specification for a new car that I intend to lease and I am trying to confirm which of the media option packs provide I pod connectivity and control.

I test drove a C Class which was fitted with the Command option (Code 527) and as that is the top line option , that clearly worked fully with the I-pod. (...and very nicely too!)

I have been told different things by different sales people and so I am unclear about the lower level options.....

Can any-one in the know help me?

I presume that the standard spec Audio 20 radio and single CD does not provide full compatability and control?

The option of Audio 20 plus Media interface (Code 510) would suggest that it does allow connection and control, but one of the salesman told me that it did not.....

If I specify the Becker Map Pilot (Code 509) do I need to specify the Audio 20 with Media Interface to have full I-pod control?

Sorry if this seems a little daft but the salesmen don't seem to sing from the same hymn sheet and the info in the price list/brochure is not in keeping with what I am being told.

I don't want to specify an option for it not to give me what I want!

Help!

Thanks.

are there any "125 edition" cars left unregistered? These had comand as standard. I found on in the spec and colour I wnated and got a good saving oer list price- and it was still a new, unfregistered car. Luckily I wasnot too fussy about my options- I like normal things, it seems!

If you can afford it get the COMAND, it is an excellent system and the ipod connectivity is fantastic with all the coverflow appearing on the screen - very cool.

There must be some 125 editions kicking about which has the COMAND as standard.

Sorry I can't offer advice on the other media options.
