First off thanks to Daddysumo for doing all the hard work. (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=26&t=1031303&mid=65011&nmt=Replacement+Wheels.)

I thought there were enough lurkers/shirkers/ditherers to see if we could get another batch of Speedline wheels going.

Spoke to Chris @ Speedline and terms are pretty much as before;

We need 12 sets to get the full deal as before (£1250 a set delivered with all bits and bobs)
6 sets could be workable but price would need to be confirmed.
All need to be the same colour.
Noble centre caps could be catered for but again only if all agree (There's lots of info as to how the original look could be catered for without machining to suit).
Delivery - probably 6 weeks minimum depends on castings and we are in busy season!

My preference would be for Gloss Black with Noble centre caps but Anthracite and standard Speedline caps OK

Think that's it for now.

Probably best to leave the thread for a few days to run to pick up interested parties.

I wanted the Noble caps, but it couldn't be accomodated.

In the end I used the Speedline plastic centres and installed the Noble M400 stick on wheel decals. They are about 1mm smaller in diameter than the speedline silver decals. Look great. Noble M400 decals were £9.85 from the Late Peter Smiths.

Regards
Andrew

Thanks for the positive response so far and Chris has now confirmed a few more details;

The price is £1,056.00 per set for 24F + 24R

The price is £1,248.00 per set for 12F + 12R

Prices include delivery, centres, bolts.

Availability of castings is very good so lead times will be relatively short (circa 6 weeks) for all unless quantities become huge.

I have chased a couple more people who had expressed interest before but just one set to go before it is a goer, would be nice to get to the higher figure and if people (previous or current prospects) want to buy a spare or two for the future then that would help to build the numbers.

PS Can anybody understand why Tux would go for 600hp glued to the floor with fat heavy wheels, shall I put him down for 3 sets, road/trackday/race?biggrin

Any photos of the new wheels on some cars? Before I make a decision?

Have a look at the old thread, link above, for plenty of photos, they do look good (IMHO).

Is it possible to have a set without the logo on the rim? I think that really spoils them.

I'm using the Federals, in standard sizes. Impressed so far, though they haven't really been pushed.

Hi Andy
I really hoped for black as with a grey car the anthracite gets a bit lost. We may get a couple more takers and if so I'll see if Speedline could be a bit more flexible.

Thanks Shaun, so do they peel off then or did you ask for a set without it printed on?

Rob

All the sets were in Anthracite to keep costs down including mine, which all had the transrfers on, I had mine re done in powder coated gloss black & re laquered at a friends place but not putting the transfers on these, prefer without as did one wheel then removed immediately. Don't really suit on black wheels, the feint ones that was originally on looked ok though.

Can't remember if transfers would peel off without damaging wheels, I think they were over laquered perhaps. Sumo or Granty would confirm.

Class wheels.

Shaun
