Yes, I'm a billy no mates. But, what benefit does it have? Is it just a list, so you can find them quicker? Or does it highlight their posts in topics I read/post in?

Can you add people like a 'watch' list, or do they need to approve you?

I can see the benefit of adding some people who are knowledgeable on a subject, if their reply's are highlighted. But if its just a list to easily PM etc then I see no point.
