Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the absolutely brilliant gadget that was Kangaroo TV (now called fanvision) is not going to be covering Le Mans this year. Its a real shame because when it was Kangaroo TV we hired this a couple of years running and thought it was brilliant for keeping up with everything that was going on in the race.

Maybe Radio Le Mans could jump in on the act and Radio Le Mans TV could be born? We need a representative to go on Dragons Den and pitch the idea.

Suppose handy for the campsite, but around the track and you have a view of the big screen not sure what it adds.

But having said that, I've never used one so can't really comment. Just looked over the shoulder of someone in the grandstand.

This is a shame, I was interested in getting one of these last year but they weren’t available. Like DS240 I looked at one that the person stood next to me was watching, however I thought that it looked like a great bit of kit and would be extremely handy if you were away from the circuit.

I had one in 2010 and it was brilliant. I think the main thing that appealed to me is the live stats running all the time giving you the ability to see who's in what car, where they are in the race, if they've pitted in etc.

I find the radio LM hourly updates a little hard to hear sometimes when there are cars hooning past nearby and you have to really concentrate on what they're saying which isnt always convenient.

Is it confirmed that fanvision won't be there for 2012 ?? absolutely gutted.

Yeah the live running stats were brilliant but i loved the fact it gave you about 3 camera options of the cars onboard. In 2008 i think you had the the option of the LMP1 Audi and Peugeot, and Corvette in GT2. It was the R15 and the open cockpit view that was best the closing speed when overtaking slower cars was astounding (even more so at night) .

I'll miss this view

Shame i can't find a lap at night onboard.

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't there last year as I looked into hiring it again.

Not that I've used it before, but I'm sure I didn't see it last year either.
