New to the forum, need some advice!!

Hi all,
Just signed up as need some advice where possible.
I currently drive a 2004 Range Rover Vogue, its a 4.4V8 and i wouldn't have it any other way, a complete beast!
However, before i bought it i was drawn to the Porsche Cayenne, i personally like the look of it, but more over, its a Porsche, nice to say you own one.
So now im looking at trading up the Range Rover for 2005/6 Cayenne Turbo, but i need some feedback on anyone who has owned one. The Range does have its issues, ive had it 12 months and the air suspension's thrown out faults, the steering on 3/4 full lock to the right lets off a nasty grinding noise and the bushes needed replacing. No biggie but you start to see why Land Rover have utter crap reliability, it was bought with low miles and fully serviced ( the last been 3000 miles before the air suspension went).
I love the Range and part of me thinks to keep it for the fact that its so mega, but a Porsche Turbo is just, in my opinion, a drivers car
Really appreciate any feedback
Kev

Welcome to PH...
You may also want to post this into the Porsche section to get a better response. I used to own a Cayenne Turbo a few years back. My experience of it was pretty good. For such a large vehicle, it could really shift and would hold the road with the right air suspension setting. If you find the right one, they can be very well spec'd with all the extras.
I would not go so far as to say it is a drivers car, as they are quite heavy and the brakes did not really match the speeds these thing could do, unless you went for the Turbo S, which was improved over the standard turbo.
I did however find it consumed fuel and oil like it was going out of fashion. If you have a heavy right foot, that oil light would come on every 1-2,000 miles, which gets rather annoying. Make sure you buy with a warranty, as they are very expensive to put right..
There are lots of haters on here, as Porsche purists believe this car should have never existed, however many of them have never driven one. If you can afford to ran a V8 RR, then Cayenne will not be a massive problem. Go for a test drive and take it from there.

I would have one, yes.
More reliable than the RR, and fookin fast!
I was travelling along a motorway at 165 in my 911 and the nextthing was a Cayenne Turbo in my mirror....the fooker was flashing his lights at me to get out of the way-brilliant!
Most people moan about the mpg, but I dont suppose its much different than your RR.
Go for it.

I dont really have a reason to sell the Range, i love it, great looking car and its served me well overall....but that TURBO!!!!!!!!
