Folks,

I have s suspicion that my coil may have failed (although I haven't fully investigated this yet because of the weather).

On the assumption that it has, what are the perceived benefits of simply replacing and keeping the distributor, versus swapping it all over for a coil pack?

And which are the recognised conversions / converters?

many thanks,

Rich

Advantages.

Mappable timing.

More available advance for light loads (better fuel consumption).

Higher maintained HT voltages.

No mechanical distributor, bob weights and rotor arm to fail.
