2009 SLK 350 C service
Discussion
Just had a call from the local MB dealer about a service that is due on my SLK. It is a 4th car and has only done 9500 miles in almost 3 years. MB said that it needs a minor service. Despite this they told me the brake fluid needs to be changed at 2 years or 37000 miles, as well as a few filters. This minor service will cost £450!!!
Is this right?

Seems a bit steep, a minor service on my E Class was £220 so would expect an SLK not to be too far from that, brake fluid was a fixed price of £60 from memory - depends what the other 'filters' etc are that they plan on replacing.
Put your details in here http://lite.servicemercedes.co.uk/pc/pc_start.asp and it will give you a printoff of what should be required specifically for your car.

Thanks Yellowbentines. Had a look and it says combination filter replacement @37000 miles/2 years. does this mean whichever comes first, or either wait until you have done 37000 miles OR wait until 2 years if you have done more than 37000 in that time? Would it invalidate anything if I didn't have it done? 3 years will be up in May.

I have an SLK55 and have discussed similar issues with my EXTREMELY trustworthy Indie. I'm pretty sure the combination filter was one of those discussions and it supplys the cabin, air-con etc.. not the engine. It isn't a cheap filter, (I'm sure £150+) and an inspection should suffice, not neccessarily a 'for the sake of it change' dunno what it would do for your warranty tho...
My C350 has 2K to go before it needs a service. MB Reading have quoted £363.00 but I understand that this does not include parts
Its a B service so will needs plugs, filters etc. I wouldnt bother with a stealer normally but I have a MB warranty and it states that it must be serviced at a stealer.
