The wife has sold the Prodrive SV6 Brera and is now sporting this little gem:
Delivered today by Volvo Reading, a V50 D5.

Im amazed at how much grunt this thing has. It spins up the front wheels so easily, im going to have to ration the wifes right foot else we will be forking out for new front tyres before the coming of spring. Its a 58 plate and has only got 23k on the clock, comes with nearly all the options (no sunroof but everything else) and we blagged so much from the dealer that they were unhappy to sell at the price we paid. £14k and we forced them to throw in 4 new tyres, new discs and pads front and back, fresh service, fresh Mot, a year of tax, 3 year body care plan where they come out and detail your car for you whenever you call and if they find damage that cannot be polished out they will repaint the panel free of charge, we had 3 panels painted and refinished by volvo before they dropped the car off to us, had the alloys refurbed and had some interior trim replaced. The manager asked 'if i kept a fork in my sugar bowl' and stormed off after a heated negotiation. lol

Obviously we'll miss the Brera but the wife will love 50mpg vs the 22mpg she got from the Italian. The next big question is what to do with my M5 Tourer. Atom 300 maybe?

Sounds like you got a great deal Eddie.

I'm on the hunt for a new car at the moment and really struggling to find an alternative to the DS3 Racing, being drawn to the big V8 darkside again.......................

ears The HSV forum is always there to help the afflicted. We love our V8's and they're not as bad on fuel as you might think, I can realistically get 30mpg from the Monaro without too much grandad driving.

PS. wavey everybody, I'm a newbie to this forum because I've been a dreadful lurker for too long. paperbag

It'll be te wifes choice as its her car. But yeah, i can see the attraction of a bit of tintage. Maybe i'd do the wheels in gunmetal grey too, but that would mean keeping the wife away from the kerb, which she loves.

I dont think so to be honest, i think its just bodywork. I know that if for example they cannot remove bird lime or other adhesive / corrosive material by conventional methods they will repaint the panel. You know whats going to happen at the 2 year, 354 day point dont you!! Full repaint request going in there.

Gave Claires car its first mod tonight:

Still very impressive considering I never even knew this was something available. Do other dealers / manufacturers offer a similar thing?

No idea mate. I think its one of those new gimmicks that can potentially get the dealer more money per sale based on the number of claims vs number of zero claims. The package is normally worth £399 over the 3 year deal so they must make some money from those who dont blag it for free. It wouldnt surprise me if the likes of Ford, Renault etc did the same thing.
