Hi Everyone,

My Mum suffers from a condition called Fibromyalgia. She is in constant pain and I really need to find something thats gonna help her as its really affecting her life style.

We have tried many different things..... Its a long shot but just wanted to see if anyone else suffers from this on here or knows of anything that has been successful in helping treat this horrible condition.

Thanks very much

Chris

Ah, one of those "illnesses" that illicit very polarised opinions. I have it myself, along with a whole host of other problems, so I sympathise with your mum. Have you had this diagnosed by a specialist, & what meds is she taking? Does she sleep well do you know? For myself, I sleep very little, & this is thought by some to be the root of the problem, with the brain sending the wrong amounts of the wrong chemicals to the wrong places! I take Tramadol for the pain, but haven't found any medication which helps with the actual condition, & gentle excercise makes it worse instead of better.
If you can give me some background I can point you in the direction of a couple of websites, & maybe some help based on my personal experiences.

Brook.

Hi Brook

Thanks for the response, the sleeping is one of the biggest issues really struggles through the night....odd sleeps through the day that makes things worse. Id have to check on what meds she takes as I dont know. She tries to walk most days but like you say the more she does the worse it makes it.
I really want to help her but nothing seems to work....she is getting hypnotised this week another on eto add to the list of bloody hundreds of things that doesnt work....

Does a warmer climate help?

Thanks again...

I would be very sceptical of this for a number of reasons. The only testimonials I have been able to find are ones from companies actually selling serrapeptase. I have never heard it being discussed in any of the forums I frequent, or by the many doctors & specialists I have seen in my years with this problem. It's primary benefit, as is being claimed, is that it "eats away" dead & damaged skin tissue, & relieves inflammation, but I for one certainly don't have symptoms like that, or know any sufferers that have either.
Of course, at between £30 & £40 a month, the makers of this product would have to claim it has miracle properties, in order to temp sufferers to try it!
