A very good drifter by the name of GT Kodiak gave me some great simple advice by telling you don't want too much grip at all.

I.e. have no better than sport tyres, have found this such a simple thing to overlook myself and a trigger finger that isn't an on/off switch helps biggrin

Yup. If you test the tyres out you'll find that the race tyres lose a load of grip when you slide them, and the change means it's hard to keep hold of a drift. The other tyres lose grip too, but as they had less to start with it's easier to handle.

As I understand it you want some grip as to put the power down and to allow for steering input so dont go straight to standar tyres but go down through the tyre upgrades till you find a balance point, when I get back online (couple of weeks or so) ill upload my tune of my drift car wink

Interested in this as I've never got the perfect drift score.

Well if you can't wait for my tune take a 240sx to A600 with 444bhp and it should drift quite well thumbup

It's difficult to do - you need to pull off a ridiculously leery drift, and power out of it "like a boss" to get it. I'd recommend the AE86, completely standard, and use manual with clutch so you can clutch kick as you go round the corners.

I'm not too into the tunning aspect of the game, I like to run cars completely stock. but I found the Lexus isf really good
