Best diesel estate car for 2K and under ?
Discussion
Looking to get a diesel estate car for some european touring with the odd sleep in the back if I had too. I'm 6'2'' so its got to be a decent size !
Really has to be a diesel (pref a turbo) as I really need 50-60mpg rather than 40).
I like the idea of a Volvo estate as they just seem to be cool, older Mercedes seeem to be rusty, BMW to expensive. End of the day it needs to be reliable/economical/comfortable.

Beautiful, but like the Volvos, too thirsty? Would a Mondeo get the figures? I've always been pretty impressed with Mondeos despite their uninspiring image.
I got 51mpg over a tank last time I used if for a 'tour', according to the trip computer. Okay they aren't accurate, but the car was choc full of stuff and people and I was cruising at a steady 0.9 leptons most of the time. I've no doubt an actual calculated 50MPG would be easily acheivable. However one must consider injector and fuel pump troubles and DMF failure (all of which I am thankfully yet to suffer).Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
