Yohimbe for weight loss?
Discussion
Just bought some Yohimbe to try and get rid of a little middle aged spread, but now found out the stuff seems pretty dangerous to use, with loads of side effects including organ failure and death.
With that in mind, I'm now understandably tentative about using it.
Anyone tried it at all?

Certainly, death will lose you weight.
I'm not sure what constitutes as middle aged, but at 39 and 5/6ths, I am probably in the right age bracket. I am happy to say I am an old git as I really don't give a s
t. In any case, I am avoiding the spread by doing the "everything in moderation" approach - I eat in moderation, I drink in moderation, I exercise in moderation and I lift weights in moderation. I'm not rake-thin nor flabby nor am I a muscle-clad warrior.
Sure, it takes time, but you need to exercise not just to be trim but for general good health.

I think those risks are drastically over-stated. Paracetamol can also cause organ failure and death too!
Pretty much any substance abused has the same effects.
Although Yohimbe like all weight loss supplements is absolutely pointless and useless without a good diet and training plan.

it's not arrogance, it's a money saving idea in this time of austerity.
Choice here:
1) Take some weird supplement that has adrenomimetic activity, will affect the cardiovascular system causing flushing, postural dizzyness, headaches, let alone what is does to your Johnson etc
2) Resist the urge to eat so much
As one of my professors used to say, Obesity is a modern disease of affluence, we are poisoning ourselves slowly with our triumphant victory over poverty and hunger.

Begging of November, I was 17stone 5 (6ft, skinhead, /typical ph stereotype).
Just got down to 16stone4, and dropping. Could have got it down quicker, but happy to slowly drop the weight.
Another 3 stone and I will be happy.
My secret?
I ate less, and starting moving more.
No weight loss tricks / tips /secrets / magic herbs / gastric bands etc.
Easy

Don't buy snacks and stuff that put on weight. If you don't buy it, you can't eat it. If you don't eat it you will lose weight.
ETA I was a powerfully built 16.5 stone in November last year. I'm now a relatively anorexic 12.5 stone. All I did differently is stopped snacking, and eating chocolate biscuits, cakes, chocolate, and crisps.
And, isn't yohimbe an aphrodisiac? That should get the weight off, even if you have to 'fly solo'
