To make sure you've flushed through all the old brake fluid you want to allow for up to half a litre per wheel so I would buy two litres...

Thanks chaps (though I am still a bit confused).
I want to remove all the old, so i need the volume of the reservoir plus the purging of the lines. I figured on buying a couple of bottles anyway (2 L total), it sounds like that should be sufficient?

To truly flush out the complete system you actually need to bleed quite a lot from each corner to ensure that all the old fluid has been pushed through.

Half a litre could be enough but for the sake of another tenner I would use at least a litre and would prefer to have some spare in case of problems, so long as it remains sealed it would last until the next change...
