The idea of a petition aimed at raisig the subject of MLMs in parliament was raised. It's worth a go surely... how many PHers are there on here? With a boost from this community and some lobbying I'm sure we can get it closer to 100,000 signatures

Petition live, get it signed:

I think the idea is to educate the public, rather than include new laws

Excellent, bring on the middle lane cameras.

I'd rather have passing on both sides, not that this petition will make a bit of difference.

The trouble is that to the ordinary person who has literally no interest in cars, this petition will look like ranting petrolheads who should have better things to worry about. The vast majority of the public really couldnt give a fk about a car in the middle lane on a motorway because they have things to worry about which actually matter.

I thought "Driving without Due Care and Attention" or "Driving with Due Consideration" were already offences.

dont make it an offence! how will it be policed.

ad campaign along the lines of 'clunk click' and add it to the driving test. even if there is a theory section solely on motorways and motorway driving. better than the current setup.

ps, did sign it though something has to be done

Like wondering where to find the indicator, what the speed limit is, whether they will die if they too fast, how many kitten and tiny children the Porsche that just passed them has killed etc

BTW their definition of a Porsche be anything that is a 2 seat sports car, except the red ones as everyone knows they are Ferrari's

That would work too I reckon.

Many MLM's use the centre lane because they feel safe and don't have to think. They are only undertaken occasionally by people who they see as hot heads and law breakers. But if they were undertaken frequently, and at speed, as they no doubt would be were it legal, they wouldn't like that one bit, or feel at all safe with traffic whizzing by on both sides. I think they would then choose to keep left as their default position.

Legalising undertaking might do more to eradicate MLM's than punitive measures or penalty's for being a MLM.

Or places to go that actually matter.....places they could get to quicker and safer without MLM fools.
PS: Are you a MLM?
