ML63 jumping out of gear when cold

any ideas gents, a friend's ML63 on odd occasions jumps itself out of gear when cold, only at low speeds.

Transmission fluid low maybe>? Just been serviced by main dealer

(sorry to cross post mods, wanted this in merc forum also)

Stiff shift cables or linkages would be my start point. You think you have fully selected but the stiffness means the other end has not fully engaged.
