SWMBO has been trying to organise something for my 30th this year and is planning for me and a mate to go to Spa to watch the F1 GP.

It's between Spa and Silverstone so I'm sort of leaning towards Spa at the moment as it's a circuit I've always wanted to go to and to be honest seems about the same cost so may as well make a trip out of it.

We will probably go for a Grandstand seat but looking on the track guide there aren't actually that many in decent spots so thinking about just taking some chairs and finding somewhere. Are there plenty of decent spots to watch from or do you really need a grandstand seat?

Thanks in advance!

Good choice to make it a proper weekend away by going to Spa rather than Northamptonshire. Thanks to the undulating terrain Spa has excellent views from some of the General Admission areas, such as from the steep banking overlooking the the run down to Pouhon.

Use Fri & Sat to walk a lap of the track and choose your spot for Sunday. Get in early on race day. Downsides of GA are the facilities can be a bit poor and the lack of shelter "if" it rains - this is Spa we are talking about - but it's a lot cheaper than sitting.

Grandstand with reserved seat gives you the chance for a bit more of a lie in and some (not all) have a roof but obviously cost more than GA.

Buy tickets direct from the Spa website before end of January and you'll get a discount.

Where ever you watch from you'll love it, Spa is fantastic.

Enjoy smile

Thanks for the great info, really appreciated!!!

I'll speak to the Wife and see what she can do but yeah I hoped it wouldn't be that necessary to have a grandstand seat, it's a big enough circuit I guess :-)
