Currently on offer £239 so tempted me to have a look - they do seem to be at the higher end of the performance change spectrum
i.e.
231 bhp up to 305bhp
500Nm up to 660 Nm
What are the risks of pushing the output of my 3ltr strocker up to these levels?
Anyone used them before?
Also they talk about a switchable function i.e. 1 = std tune 2 = 305hp & 660Nm then Race = 320+hp & 680++Nm.
I looked on the website and saw they had used the 330d as their test car to show off the possibilities.
I do fancy a remap along with the 305bhp but am I opening up a can of worms re costings.

I used to have a 330d which was remapped to 245bhp and 379lb ft and fitted with an aftermarket LSD.
Boy was it quick! Really great fun, used to love the mid range power surge :-)
Never had any issues, previous owner had the car mapped at 36k and I sold the car when it was on 106k although the turbo went at 103k that was due to carbon build up and they are prone to go around that sort of mileage. But other than that it was faultless.

The 335d obviously runs on booze.
In all seriousness the 335d is twin turbo while the 330d is single turbo.
But the small turbo above x revs is adding nothing the big turbo kicks in at higher revs - so ifthe big turbo in the 335d is exactly the same as in the 330d but with the boost turned up a notch Not sure if its Garett KKKK then a 330d driver could turn up the boost on their turbo to the same level and have identical reliability to that of a 335d owner. The turbo on the 330d is going to be stressed more than the big turbo on the 335d. Unlike the one on the 335, the 330 turbo will be working at the same time as the smaller one on the 335 would be. So it might have the same reliability as the big turbo on the 335 but it will also be working twice as hard due to also having to work at lower revs whereas in the 335 the smaller turbo takes that duty.Welshbeef said:

For various reasons I very much doubt they would use the same turbo.I say got for it with the remap, post back on here and let us know the results
