Hi there,
I am a new owner of a Tvr Chimaera 4.0 1998 and I need some help.

I am a little afraid of the position of the air filter as everyone knows its in front of the radiator and open to the elements.

I will drive this car to Hamburg from Sweden at the end of February and the weather is usually very wet.

Has anyone any suggestions how to protect the air filter from rain with out restricting the airflow?

Regards

No need to worry, it rains a lot in the UK and I have never heard of anyone having a problem,
The only thing to look out for are streams that are deep enough that they will cover the filter, this might lead to hydro locking of the engine.

There is a problem with early Chimaera air filters being attached to the bottom by the radiator. If yours is on the bottom it can when going through a deep puddle suck up water into the engine giving a big bill.

If you move the filter to a higher position like the later cars late '96 on wards then it will be fine.

A number of people did have problems years & years ago, but then I'm showing my age now lol

Hope it helps
