I'm delighted to be able to report that my new new engine build will soon be underway

Rob Robertson 5.0 special, same as Chilliman's basically, but without the carbon triple plenum.

350bhp NA, at 10:1 compression, but with compression reduced to 9:1 for FI, will expect 320bhp. Add the supercharger should be good for 450bhp.

Finally, something to look forward to smile

thank all you lovely people.

Heads somewhere between V8D stage 3 & 4

In the end we worked out that with duty, shipping and all the required extras the TA heads would add £4k to £5k to the build and my pockets aren't that deep. Likewise throttle bodies.

cam TBC

seasoned "new" top hatted block, cast crank but not TVR oe, x-bolted, forged pistons, H rods, trimetal gaskets etc. etc.

Hi Jammy things are looking up ! What is a TBC cam and who is doing the mapping.
My engine is still going strong ..built by Robcool
What are H rods and will you have the .4.6 crank, so no weak spot like mine and Chillies..

A TBC cam is by the new US outfit, Toobikon Firmed Inc. wink

H Beam Rods. Probably is the 4.6 crank, whatever it is isn't the TVR item. Rob says my engine is the same spec as Chilli's less the carbon plenum.

Colin Harvey and I are debating whether I might trade up my intercooler, induction pipework bores and the next (biggest current) Rotrex blower, the C38-91, because I've asked Rob outright if the engine spec will handle silly power (500+) and he says no problem. Bearing in mind i've already beefed up the T5, diff and driveshafts, may as well take advantage of them. But that decision involves a (relatively) little more expenditure, so the target is 450bhp with my current spec, 500+ if I upgrade.

Dave Walker will be mapping the car. Emerald have been UNBELIEVABLY helpful. I mean truly. They've had the car since early December, have spent hours on working round loom faults to get the car running, spent time on the power runs, spent time even before any of that on the fallout from "a problem". 4 of their time involved - Richard (Export Sales Mgr), Leonie (Coordinator), Karl (Component specialist) and Dave (MD). Hours and hours. All as a favour so far. And their mapping charge is a low flat rate, however many hours they spend to get it right. About £350 IIRC.

had some bits and pieces already, ACT smooth intake, SC Power alloy bellmouths, thermal spacer and I'm sure i heard Rob say 72mm plenum...

I'm just waiting for the full detailed spec to sign off and then we're go.
