What bike

Girlfriend wants a new road bike.
Something a bit light tourer/audaxy with mounts for mudguards/racks etc.

Campag or SRAM would be nice what with being snobs, but not a sticking point.

Budget of under £1500, but nearer to a grand would be nice.

I never buy a complete bike so


Frame , make sure it fits !! steel for audax long miles or ti if ur feeling flush
Campy groupo - ribble has good prices , sram works well but ugly
A proper womans saddle , brooks if she's a serious rider - worth every penny
Handbuilt wheels - id choose mavic/ ambriosio rims with hubs to suit budget
Spin Cycles carbon compact / non compact bars - yummy and good prices + have a look on chainreaction for bargins too

use the rest of the budget for finishing kit
