Cerbera Bonnet Wanted .

Hello Chums ..

Fully realise this isn`t the classifieds section but can anyone help me out with a Cerbera bonnet,I`ve placed several adverts but to no avail ?

Doesn`t need to be pristine,an accident damaged or scarred item would more than fit the bill

Thanks Kev,I`ve brought from Bell Hill in the past although I generally find they`re not price competitive they are professional .I`m basically looking for a panel that is unlikely to see use on a car again and would pay a good price but not commercial rates.

Are you considering using the bonnet to create a mould for a carbon fibre one. Hint, Hint.

I don't think anyone has done one for a Cerbera before but I can't be the only one who has one on their wish list.

I turned up in person at Bell Hill yesterday at 11:30, to be told the TVR guys go home around 11 on Saturdays!

Close.. I need to mock up a buck/former for an aluminium bonnet with the idea of reducing engine bay heat during the high summer. During the colder weather and up to an ambient of 70 degrees all`s fine but anything above and it`s that familiar eye on the temp gauge,primarily in traffic,with a constant narrative to anyone sitting in the passenger seat ! The fans cope well but I`d rather they have an easier life.

...although your carbon fibre idea is probably the more astute business plan :-)

Just get a cool running chip and all your problems will go away..

Or a great dirty vent in it also does the trick. Never seen above 90 in very heavy traffic or even track days

That`s the point isn`t it,and it`s not rocket science. Fibre glass is cheap and an excellent insulator but it`s not given to radiating engine heat whereas aluminum .... yes the cooling chip and altered temp sender`s the accepted practice but all that addresses is the symptom not the cause, I want a cooler engine bay and as a consequence more comfortable cabin temperatures without having to rely overly on the fans ... I guess the same point can be leveled at the majority of TVRs.

Actually there was one made a number of years ago (5 or 6?). It popped up on PH and I was sorely tempted to stick it on my car but leave it unpainted...yellow car/black bonnet...go for that bumble bee look

It was pricey (about £800 iirc) but then I tried to justify it to myself in that my front end (mostly bonnet) needs a respray due to stone chips and if I got the bonnet the eye would be drawn away from the remaining chips .

Anyway, I dithered and dithered, then I lost track of the post and now I fear it has gone. Dont think whoever it was ever sold one.

I could still be tempted
