Well it was bound to happen at some point.

Got in car last night at 6pm on roof works car park in Bolton, thought it was a bit drafty and noisy, thought nothing of it, drove to asda pilsworth parked up and noticed my passenger door lock on inside open. Just thought it was me leaving it open on these frosty mornings when entering car from passenger side.

Drove to work this morning noticed nothing. It was dark though again.
Today I asked my boss if I could finish at 4pm. Walked to car on roof car park and noticed a tear on passenger side right next to the seatbelt tower. Looked closely and could see edges of tear were burnt halfway up. Then realised this must have been done Thursday during the day as I was parked sideways on next to a heater matrix on the roof, so it must have blocked them being seen. I can only think they used a cigarette or lighter or maybe its not burnt but it did look melted a bit in the dim light. Its about the length of my hand and wrist.

I dont leave any valuables in the car so centre console had been checked. Only my notepad there and sunglasses (cheap).

Got home and folded some black bags and taped them behind the tear with masking tape temporarily.

I dont want to claim on my car insurance as it will go up.

Anyway the little scrote hasnt made me unhappy because he got nowt. And I still have the car.

Little fker.

I can't help either unless you find out who did it and want someone to hold them down while you administer a good kicking.
It looks to me like they cut it "for a laugh" and tried to burn it but it wouldn't burn properly.

I would rather someone broke the bloody window than had a go at the hood. It's a lot cheaper to replace!

Ah but guess what got a hood, mohair in black taken off a 2003 car that crashed. No rips or tears just dusty, seals, frame and rain rail included. Went to see it, buy it now on ebay £100 , picked it up, its now at a mx5 friends awaiting cleaniing and then he will fit when he has a spare day.

Bargain eh?
