Had one of these a while back (for a grand total of a day lol). Had to let it go as insurance tried to rape me due to my 'colourful' driving history. I'm now back on a clean sheet and hoping to keep it that way so I'm in a position to drive whatever I want (within reason).

My old one came up at handy money so I've shelled out and bought it back.

Don't really know much about them other than they go like stink for what they are and they're harder to find than a dentist for a chicken. Any owners on here or anyone had one before? Care to share your experiences? Not a lot of information could I find on them.

Had a1.9 volcane for 3 years rapid cars under rated and goes wrong if you looked at it but most fun ever had
Watch out for passive rear steer caught me out badly before, judt got away.I would have an other despite all its faults, for me it was ok to insure and wasnt bad on fuel considering drove it like i stole it so in short have fun.

I've had a couple of Volcane TDs over the years. I think suprising is the word I would use. A couple of tweeks with an allen key and a spanner will up the power to 130bhp reliably.

I agree, they do tend to step the tail out but once you get used to the rear torsion bar suspension setup, they can be loads of fun!

Almost bought one of these last year, a lovely green colour. Wish I had now. A car that's going to go up in value IMO

Been practising left foot braking for the last 6 months now. I do it subconsciously now (sp), just naturally. Last car I had was a 306 (similar setup) so I know how much fun it is when you get used to it smile

The one I have bought is green too BTW! Never would have though on buying a green car before but this just looks so right with the spats and everything!

A clean one will make £1400-£1500. Look at it as an investment. Theres approx 15-20 left on the road, they will only appreciate.

I remember the good old days, buying a Mk2 Escort for £20, spending a weekend wrecking in the forest and baling it. It'll be hard to find a rotten one for under £4k now. Unrestored classics are the way the market is heading.

Yeah here's mine, like the green ones and red but they are too rare to be able to choose the colour.

Here's mine,

Just when you mention red ones, there was a nice red Volcane TD cruising round here for a while. Was decked on Superlites and had 4 Cibies on the front. Sounds awful but looked well!

A friend had one a while back, lovely car which went & handled well.
he had to get rid of it after an amusing incident with fresh trout & a multiple-storey carpark.

Persuaded my brother in law to buy one which he enjoyed but it had cooling issues, nothing that a flush & a new rad wouldn't cure.

Good cars!
