Here's my build thread for the Cupra R I bought on Wednesday. At the moment its completely standard so is more of an introduction. I've got another thread on here for my Clio 182 which I still have.

An absolute bargain came up so I snapped it up. `Its the 210bhp on an 03 plate with 106k, 1 owner, tax, mot and part service history. Only paid £1300 for it, hpi clear as well.

Anyways here's some pictures :

The second image shows the only damage to it other than a few small scratches, I'm picking up another door for it tomorrow. The rust is only on the door and isn't on the sill or sideskirts.

Comments welcome smile

And a detail! A black 9 year old car is going to be full of swirls!

Looks great though. I'd love to find a bargain like this as my fun car now I've sold my Z4M.

I used to sell these when they were brand new, ran a red 225 version for a while.

Brilliant brilliant buy for the money. Well done.

Now that is what i call a bargain!

Rather aggressive looking car i've always thought. What are these things like in the corners?

Nice one, so long as the engine is in decent nick then that really is a bargain. I paid a fair bit more than that for my 55-plate 225 model a couple of years back.

As standard they're a bit wallowy in corners but a thicker front ARB (the stock 23mm one from a Mk4 Golf R32 is thicker and is a direct fit) and a rear ARB (none as standard) help, as do a decent set of coilovers and a sensible drop in ride height. With just the ARBs done mine is a good bit more composed chucking it in and changing direction at speed.

Also, get it mapped, immediately smile I got Revo stage 1 before Christmas, the difference really is night and day.

Alright cheers, just been looking through your build thread now smile

The waterpump was gone on it so got that and the cambelt done at the same time. Since that tho the cars been spot on, ordered a forge fmcl007p recirculating dump valve which needs to be fitted and I've been searching ebay for bargains so will add more when it happens smile

Aye saw your post in my thread, replied smile

Good on you for seeing past the flaws, a new guy on the SCN forum bought a Platinum Grey one that was in need of some TLC and put the graft in, looks and performs like a fine example now and sure yours will do the same smile

What else have you got planned for it?
