It's got to the point with child no2 2/3rds completed that we really need to replace the RX-8 with something a little more practical. Been fine with one small child but two is going to be pushing it somewhat. Mostly if we're honest due to the door design, yes it has 4 doors but getting into the back involves opening the front doors first and its bloody awkward unless you can open the front almost fully.

Still want something that's quick and fun to drive when don't have them in the car.

5K budget, as new as possible, ideally RWD, 4/5 doors. <7sec 0-60 and a 'drivers' car. smile

Current winner is the Mazda6 MPS but there aren't exactly a lot of them about. Haven't yet managed to find one close enough to go visit (don't fancy a 5 hour round trip just to find we don't like it).

Any other suggestions?

I think my wife still prefers the idea of the M3 wink but yes getting on a bit for the 330i and anything less is going to be rather disappointing. It's an option.

Tbh I would keep the rx8 just so I wouldn't have to give it away

Needs must, don't want to have sell it but its just not going to work with a baby and a toddler (just one baby was pushing it a bit at times). Can't afford to be a 4 car household (even if one is a part build kit car) and don't have room either.

It's a crying shame as would have another RX-8 in an instant when the kids are grown up a little (say about 4 years or so) and will be really hard to find one this good by then.

Was about to suggest a Legacy but too late! MPS will do the trick too.
