Some branches of Lucas workshops have diesel and injection service departments and they can refurbish your 2.9 V6 injectors for £15 each and usually the same day too.

I think that sounds pretty good.

They replace the caps and rings and ensure that all the injectors are firing correclty to give a good atomisation pattern, and thhat they are all flowing at the same amount.

Ah. A job for later when the finances improve. And when I find a Lucas service centre.

Also: The exhaust has arrived! The down side. It's in Surrey.

Hi Chris,

Let us know what it is like once fitted, was it from LeeBee or Peninsular, I canna remember!

Any opinions on my dilema.....

My Stainless job is beginning to tarnish and corrode a bit and has a split where the first single pipe joins the box - not due to corrosion more likely the last speed ramp that I hit. The baffles have also gone and it sounds crap now.

Would it be cheaper to have mine opened and baffles removed/fixed and have the split welded or just replace with a new system?

In my experience with exhausts, welding just puts off the inevitable...

As mentioned previously on this forum, don't remove the baffles... it'll sound good, but you will actually lose power...

I've popped a new thread in for exhausts as we have changed topic on this thread making it difficult to find again if need be.

I know peninsula do reconned exchange injectors for RV8 engines, don't know if they do the same for Ford engines though .. much better route than the cleaning method IMO .. all the injector internals are replaced with new parts, only the outer casing is reused IIRC. more expensive but my experience of cleaned injectors isn't a happy one ..
give peninsula a call next week when jason is back in parts and see what they can offer

That's sounds the same as the refurbishment at Lucas workshops. New nozzles and balanced spray pattern, everthing replaced as far as I'm aware. That's what they did when I used to work there, should still be the same ....I hope!

I'll also ask peninsula for a comparison of what you get for your money with each.
