My S1 had the usual wobbly doors that befall all S's eventually. I bought the relevant plastic bobbins from TVR car parts and was told that I would have to replace the captive nuts in the body as the S1 had a dufferent and now unavailable size to all other S's. Quite I job I thought but I bought the relevant bits all the same.

On taking ther doors off, I thought I would try tapping out from M8 to the new M10 size. Worked perfectly and saved me loads of time a grief.

Whether you have S1 or not, I do recommend replacing the sleeves, makes a massive difference, takes a bit of time but not too difficult.

While I'm at it, I'm putting on MX5 mirrors as well. Well, we all need something to do on winter nights!

Hi,
I'm also in the process of fitting MX5 mirrors.I have rubbed the mirrors down ,primed a sprayed them to match the body colour.I have also dry fitted them and found that the heel of the fixing plate has raised parts around the bolt so they do not fit flush to the body. Next step is to grind the raised parts off and fit a thicker rubber gasket, this should do the trick I hope. I will send in some photos when I get the chance.
