Front Suspension Bushes

Hi,
I need to buy complete set of front suspension bushes, and wondered if anyone knows:
1. Which type to get (I hear the originals are poor)?
2. How much should I be reasonably expected to pay?
3. A good mail order supplier?

Any help would greatly appreciated.

I fitted Superflex polyurethane bushes from Peninsula, much improvement and an absolute doddle to fit unlike some.

It depends what you want it to do, the ploy bushes are great but a little hard. When I did mine I wanted the car for cruising and the odd track day, so I went with the originals. I have to say I have found them very good.

They are £4 each and TMS can get them for you on: 01664 481065

Also dont forget the Thrust washers, two for each bush.

Corin. If the polybushes you have fitted are the purple ones, i can tell you that i have just replaced some on a Griff 500 which had new wishbones fitted at the same time as the polybushes.
The stainless steel tube had worn through the bush and damaged the bush housing necessitating renewal of the wishbones once again (not through corrosion this time).
I once fitted a set to the rear wishbones on my 520 Chimaera and it handled like a bag of s***e.
These bushes are too compliant, the standard TVR bushes with the nylon spacers are far better .
If you want stiffer, get some made from nylon or get rose jointed.

absolutely Ian, the purple ones are no use at all on a TVR .. check for earlier threads i've posted on about poly bushes .. it's all well documented.

Hi, I went for the blue Superflex, you can tell how good they are by how easy they are to fit, the purple ones are Powerflex and a lot harder. With the Superflex you get added rigidity for maximum steering feel and response but with no side effects, can't rate them highly enough. (Had standard bushes before)

Can't understand why you would want to go for a softer bush than the already soft purple ones.
I will have a look at the ones i have left to see what they are. Sure they came from Peninsula as well.
Any bush is probably better than worn out standard ones.
Try fitting the standard ones and see the improvement.

Peninsular fitted the same as Corin's to mine didn't last a year, completely disintergrated!
