My Ml320 sport is coming up to 3 years old in May. I've owned since new & it's got about 28K miles on it. Only thing over and above standard spec ( mechanically speaking ) is air suspension .

Either going to keep it for a couple more years or get rid & replace

If I keep it I'm wondering if it's worth getting an extended warrantee. It appears MB want £850 for another years , which seems steep.

Has anyone taken out an aftermarket warrantee ? If so , have you needed to make a claim ?

Currently thinking it's worth keeping the £850 in the bank & saving the money just in case. Probo use an independant for work & just get the merc stamp at basic service time.

i dont think that is bad for piece of mind i have just took out a tier1 warranty for a ml63amg that was £1550. it might sound steep at the time but if you dont take it up before the warranty runs out it will be double that if you decide later.i have a cl63 that i did'nt take the extended warranty out on because i misplaced the paperwork and they wanted £2900 for it for another year.
my gearbox went on my last ml63 and the dealer told me the cost was over £15000 luckily it was still under warranty.

I have an extended warranty with Warranty Direct on the OH Captiva. Its one of the top ones and is a good price.

We have claimed once for new parking sensors and it was painless. They are much cheaper than warranty wise. The only pain in the bum was the dealer didnt have an account with them so progress was slower than I liked.
