Hi all

I've recently bought my first Porsche - a 2.7 Cayman. Unfortunately it's also come with a brand new set if ditchfinders. What rubber would you guys recommend ?

If your want to keep to using N rated then Michelin Pilot Sports are probably about as good as they come. Goodyear F1 Assymetrics are slightly less expensive but a good alternative.

I had Bridgestone n rated tyres on my Cayman and felt much safer in the rain on those than the Michelin Pilot Sports I had before. Michelin were good in the dry but treacherous in the cold and wet... Plus they are a lot cheaper...

Pilot Sports on mine, only complaint is they don't like the cold too much, they have been sensational in the wet for me but they are still quite new so the tread depth is still intact.

Mind blowing better than the P-zeros on my other car in the wet and dry, but about the same in the cold(under 2C or so).

I guess it's not a OPC car then

so I would fit Super sports, a much better tyres than the standard sports but are not yet N rated.

Topical question - I too have to replace the rears on my Cayman S (19" wheels).

The car came with Continental Sport Contact 3's N-rated - fronts still have loads of tread left but the rears are on the wear indicators - so I ordered 2 of the same, and they were the cheapest here in NL (although Porsche Centre did want EUR560 each excluding fitting - which I didn't except !)

I quite like the feel of the Conti's but have no experience of the Michelins or other makes on the Cayman.

Anyone else have experience of the Conti's ??

Cheers

Unless we get no rain in the UK over the next 12 months, try GoodYear - they have been fab on the Spyder in all weather/temps.
