Please recommend me a car!

Folks, the time has come for me to chop in my CLK500.

• I am looking to spend no more than £16k

• The car needs to be quick. The Merc is 5.7ish to 60 & pretty spritely from 30 - lots. I want to retain this.

• It needs to have 4 seats (2 + 2 is fine)

• No more than 5 years old

• I am ambivalent to whether it's petrol or Diesel, coupe, cabriolet, saloon or estate

• Preferably an automatic

• Fuel consumption doesn't really worry me (to an extent - I have averaged 23mpg over 60k miles in the Merc - that's fine with me)

• Reliability does. It needs to be as bullet proof as the Merc has been

• Prefereably RWD or 4WD, although I'm closed to FWD

• Has to be RHD. I just couldn't live with a lefty day to day

I've already considered:

Jag XK - new shape not falling into budget yet
VXR8 - No go with SWMBO
335D - Quite a good option
335i - Quite a good option
530D - Had one before & liked it (not sure if I want the same car twice, but a good contender)

Any thoughts would be most gratefully received!!!
