Pistonheads and TVR

I wonder what a potential buyer of a TVR thinks once he or she has read through this site. Makes you wonder if Pistonheads is good for the marque, personally i think Pistonheads put a lot of people off
buying. Cant think of many other marques that have such a negative site as this one.
TVR have a very small market to work with and on top of that there is this site making it smaller by the people who love and own them

I was only interest in Jap performance before I found this site. Then I started to realise how much more I could get from other marques out there. Started chasing 944 and TVR S and then eventually through the power of Pistonheads I ended up on the epic search for a Griff.
I wanna say thanks to PH for helping me find just the right car. I didnt realise that TVRs could be so good. In fact I didnt realise that any car could be so good!

PH + TVR = efficeint ownership!
Without PH I wouldnt have been able to find out which TVR I really wanted, how I could afford it,what to look out for, how to buy it, where to buy it, where to get it serviced, how to keep it running well and my own small amount of maintenance as well as making it an even better car (IMO!).
Im not done yet, I got another post coming up.

And not only that but PH forums isnt what PH is all about IMO. Its what happens when you switch the PC off and go out in the car. You meet up with other PHers and if you go to any PH meet guess what the best represented marque is.

I can see your point of view, and in some ways I wonder if Pistonheads might have made me think twice if I had known of it's existence before purchasing. Running a TVR can get very expensive and I think potential owners need to know the pitfalls in order to make a balanced decision before buying into a great marque.
However, I don't know where I would be without a site of this calibre to assist in the running/ownership experience. I constantly search the Cerbera forum for advice & fellow members are always very quick & willing to offer help.
Also, there are plenty of 'been for the drive of my life' type threads to help balance the view.
Pistonheads certainly makes TVR ownership a hell of a lot easier for me!

I would obviously disagree.
All forums are full of people having problems with cars - that's the staple diet of discussion.
PH publishes news of TVR around the world. News that would otherwise not see the light of day. Can't see that being a bad thing.

Pistonheads is THE major player in me getting a TVR! I wanted the car but was unsure about the running costs but once I had seen the help people get on this community my opinion changed.
Without Pistonheads I'm sure I would have worried about things with no need to and spent a lot more money than I needed to.

The amount of thread son here from new members saying "I have read the forums and Im going to look a t a TVR tomorrow" I think proves the point that PH is good for TVR.
Plus, the owner of TVR (Trevor Whelker?) was on PistonFest FM and I think he approved.
