Hopefully this will be the last time I need to ask about PPI inspections

Can anyone recommend a specialist near bournemouth to check over a 996 GT3?

Peter Morgan are pretty good and have agents around the country. They have good knowledge of GT3s and what to look for.

Won't the OPC in Bournemouth carry out an inspection?

I think the OPC will carry out their 111pt check which is really to satisfy themselves that cars are suitable for a warranty. A more thorough inspection is a good idea - I have found Peter Morgan's inspections very good.

From what I've read this is true, also the seller is a dealer who generally sells older cars, hence the need for the inspection and has puts a lot of business through opc bournemouth so they may not be all that impartial, not saying they'd be dishonest but may play down a few bits here and there.

I'm in 2 minds with regards to Peter, he seams to have a good name on the forums but someone I hold in very high regard wasn't overly impressed so was after other options if they exist.

Spoke to Jon Mitchell's garage today who seamed quite reasonable, anyone had much to do with them?

I think you will be safe with any car from Canford Classics

I wouldn't be so sure. I would definietly have an independent inspection carried out and satisfy yourself the car is good before you part with any money, even a deposit. Even more important on a GT3 than some other 911s.

As a dealer, I am sure he can get the car to a garage of your choosing quite easily so perhaps someone like Parr?
