saw an old peaugeot last night with the plate -

008 007

(it was dark so couldnt tell if any bolts were in dodgy places or anything else) looked legit to me but where is it from?

Morning,

The plate is a mispaced OO plate, ie. the letters OO followed by four numbers.

Not possible - would have been OOB 7. I'm with OO 8007 as well. Naturally Essex!

The reg OO 8007 is showing as a Nissan Maxima. Does that sound about right OP?

There's an old Scorpio near me with a similar reg. It appears to be a collection of numbers with a double "0" combination. I think it's an Isle of Man reg that's been anglicised. IOM native cars have white plates front and back with red banding. When done up as normal UK reflectives they look strange. I'd guess at that.

Oh dear! Gues you lot must be born after the prefix came out, let alone the suffix. Look here

http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/registrations/oo.ht...

OO was issued in 1961/2. Where else did OO 7 come from?
