OPC Discounts?
Discussion
I can give you a recent answer to this....and it's an interesting one!
OPC had a 59 plate C2S up at £49995.
I noticed that they had a few similar cars, so put a cheeky offer in (cash or finance, no px).
I started the bidding @ £43k (you have to try, don't you...!).
Dealer came back and said not quite, but I'm sure we can work something out - £46k?
I then went back with £44.5.....to wit,the dealer promptly closed the door on any further negotiations and suggested that I look at an older car!
The car that I was looking at, interestingly, was then increased in price to £52995.
Perhaps they're trying to filter out the 'riff raff'

there are so many variables its bonkers to ask on here, just chance your arm and see how you get on. They might have 10k across it as they got a cheap car somewhere or they might only have £500 as theyve had it a while and written it back due to paying too much in the first place to sell another sticky more expensive car.
I was told that the C4S I bought recently was at its best price with nothing available bar some tax and a couple of hundred quid. a week later they chipped 2k off it on their website. I went back in and chipped them another 500 + 6 months tax and a deal was done. all in all the best part of 2700 off the price form the previous week. The original price was 37k.
who's to say that they might have still made 5k on it or even made a loss to shift it.
Its almost impossibly to judge this one, other than going in, deciding the cars right for you then pushing as had as you can until you feel you have a good deal. If the price still doesn't feel right, then there will be other cars. Conversely, don't be afraid to buy the perfect car for you even if you don't get 2k off of it.

Was this the EL OPC black C4S?I was told that the C4S I bought recently was at its best price with nothing available bar some tax and a couple of hundred quid. a week later they chipped 2k off it on their website. Although the preferred approach for an OPC in this situation is to give the discount via an overinflated P/X price I think you're better off doing what others have said and just rock up and ask for a discount on the sticker price of the car you like (while making them aware your also interested in a similar car at a competing OPC). Reason being that £4k+ off definitely seems a fair position right now but I can't see them giving you £4k extra on a P/X that you say is only worth £7k (ie more than 50% over the value just sounds odd!).
