Hello all

I've just cleaned about a kilo of assorted crap - mostly decayed leaves - from in front of the two 'side' radiators - the ones in front of the front wheels. I wonder if there is an unobtrusive grille available?

Also, I haven't been able to get it all out with just my hands. Would it be safe to jet wash the rest of it out?

Cheers, Nick

(I forgot to mention, it's a 996).

A good vacuum cleaner is a safer option than a pressure washer.

Do a search here or on pcgb forum. there are a number of people who have done a diy fix with some wire mesh who have detailed the process.

I guess it would be. But what remains is 'mud' - probably decayed leaves - damp and wedged in. I don't recon a vacuum would shift it. Maybe low pressure from a garden hose would better.

Thanks. I did try a search but got nothing for "Porsche blocked radiator". I'll give "Porsche DIY grille" a go.

Cheers, NIck

What he saidbiggrin

These a great thread out there somewhere, loads of pics.

I had some fitted by SCOM about 12 months ago when I had new rads fitted. They've been great. After a good drive over the moors, get back and pick bits out of the mesh that would normally lodged between your rads.

Take bumper off. No matter what you think you have removed its probably only half what is in there.

I did the job for about £30 all in, bit of messing around taking bumper off and comments above are correct, you will still have loads of crap in there.

You would have to be on drugs to pay £144 quid for those

I used a compressed air lance to blow all the debris out before fitting the Zunsport grilles. I think I paid £120 for them - there's a discount code that's pretty easy to find.

They are a doddle to fit, though I've just used a fine black cable tie to secure them, rather than the self tapping screw they provide. They look good and fit well.
