Given their training I'd say yes.

But cocking up like this won't be without consequences if it's human error.

Their training? What about people who've done advanced driving courses, or maybe have a racing license and are more than capable of handling a car. Are they allowed to speed for 'testing cars'?

Sorry, but there had to be a line. Unless he had blues and twos going, its unacceptable.

It is not known how fast he was travelling when the accident happened.

I could hazard a pretty good guess LOL

Quite probably, but it wasn't on patrol or an official police vehicle.

No, a police driving course can, and will in all pass cases, transform a normal human being into a "superhuman" with better eyesight, better reaction times and quite possibly extra sensory perception. These skills are ONLY available via police training and it is physically impossible for any mortal to approach the same level of skill without having been on this specific police driving course.

I got the jist that it was on patrol with a 'powerful audi' while being tested? but with his ability to call a golf a super car leaves me without much confidence.
