I have tried reading through all the HMRC help pages but I can't find advice on this problem.

-Self Assessment, sole trader. Everything up to date-

Last year I received a refund on my previous years tax bill, all fine. It was paid into my account.
2010-11 was poor for business with some high expenses too and I have just submitted my return to have the calculations confirm I am not due any tax on that year.
However when going to submit the calculation now shows that I am due to repay the refund that I received last year.

Is this normal? The statement makes this payment due on the 31st of January and there is no way I can raise that cash.

No.

Do you have an accountant?

No accountant Eric.

My figures have been very small over last couple of years and very simple.
This has got me stumped though.
