Just wanted to find out what sort of cars other people have had, Reason being my brothers car is in for repair and he's been given a '61 plate Mini Cooper SD with the John Cooper works body kit and all the trimmings etc.
If that were me i would have been given a poverty spec Aygo or symilar! It has to be said though, The mini is a nice peice of kit! Also wondered if these come with an LSD as standard? being a Cooper S, just with a diesel engine, so has all the running gear from a standard 'S

Never had one. O/H got a mk1 Ford KA though, that was almost perversely fun, taking your foot off the loud pedal* was completely optional for anything other than parking. At one point I did feel like I was going to be simply launched through the door and into the road however, they're very....basic!

- term used loosely
Worst was probably an 18 year old automatic clio with 2 illegal tyres and I smoked it everywhere only due to the shot-to-nonexistent head gasket... came out of the services on the motorway while on the way back to wimborne, dorset to collect my own car (a japanese 4x4) to find an aa man with a fire extinguisher about to force the bonnet.. told the garage their car was undrivable only told be told "what do you want us to do, it's not worth recovering"
sadly PH N+S policy prohibits me from naming the garage.

My C class is in having a dent repaired and I've got an Vauxhall Agila 1.2 Granny wagon, couldn't care less
It's actually quite amusing to drive and on the trip to Bournemouth at the weekend it was very funny to see how much of a reaction it got when overtaking on the duel carriageway.
I was quite surprised the garage let me test drive a GT3 after arriving in it though.

Worst was a Daewoo Matiz from an indie when I had a BMW 3 series in for service......was fun to see how fast it would go and funnier to see the looks on some people's faces when passed by it.
Best I guess was the 911 GTS but it was still slower than the Turbo that was in for service.......

Have had two courtesy cars up till now. One was supprising in a bad way a new VW polo petrol, seamed to be slow, uncomfortable, Extremely un-economical and came with a half sucked boiled lemon sweet in the passenger door pocket that was found very un-expectedly after looking for my sunglasses in there!
The other was a little Nissan Micra this I have to admit was compleatley the oppsite to the polo, nippy, comfortable and not to bad on the drink.

When the BMW went in for repair they tried palming me off with a Vauxhall Vectra. Probably not the worst car they could have given me, but I still had a moan.
In the end they said "oh we can give you a Mercedes if you like". I agreed and a couple of days later I was wafting about in a (almost new at the time) 2008 automatic E220 CDI
Loved that car. Quick enough, quiet and very comfortable. Made me seriously consider getting a barge as my next car

I got a Rover 400 shed with no front suspension and very wooly brakes when my car went to the main Rover dealers for repair through my insurance, and they had the cheek to ask me to sign a disclaimer as I would only be covered 3rd party! They are still a large bodyshop working for many major insurance co's
I was tempted to try and get it mot'd and then recovered back to there garage when it failed!
