Most effective method to get the best deal: Approved used
Discussion
I’ve found a car on the approved used section on a manufacturer’s website. The right spec etc. that I’ve been looking for. However, the car is located 200+ miles away.
What is the best way to get the best deal? I know going into the dealership will probably yield the best results but it would mean a 8-9 hour round trip
Ring the dealership direct or go into the local dealership and ask them to source it for me.
No part ex, buying outright (if that makes any difference)

Speaking from the other side of the desk you're best dealing with dealer who's got it. They will probably deliver, we do. If you do try through local dealer, don't enquire with holding dealer first. When your local dealer rings them to try and get it (they will have to buy it so expect to buy it unseen either way) the other dealer will say no, they've got someone on it.

The problem with that is that if they know you're making a huge journey to see the car then they know you're going to buy so won't offer so much off.uncinquesei said:

If he goes through his local dealer, won't there be less room to discount as both dealers will be trying to gain a profit from the car?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
