IF the weather is kind, I might take a trip out there with the family for a look. Last years start in the town was great.

Thought last years start in the town was gash. Good getting a close up look but when they left the square they were right into (Friday?) traffic meaning the crowd waiting to hear the cars had to make do with them queing behind buses and trundling by. Plus it was Baltic!

We parked really close by, had a good close nosey around the cars, went to a local restaurant for dinner, then came out to see the cars come down the hill from the start line.
A bit of straight section when they could have opened up the throttles so we could hear some more noise would have been good, as would some warmer weather have been appreciated.

However, for a free event where they got multiple times the number of attendees expected, I'm pleased I went in to see it.

Last year I watched the cars passing Bellfield roundabout at Kilmarnock (start of A76 Dumfries road from A77)- some were accelerating nicely as they pulled away!

Is this years route the same? If not is there any information posted anywhere regarding this years route?

I as headed back from the south last year and came up the A76 headed for Irvine and wondered why there were crowds of people lining the streets in the villages. Weirdly, I'm also going to headed back up from down south on Sunday again... so will try and make some time to stop and watch.

Did you think I would be that stupid to tell every one about the rally and fook up the day confused, I didn't make it all up you know. Now you have caused a little confusion.smile
However , if something has happened since to change the day to Saturday 28th, I apologise in advance.

You are talking about two different events.

Sat is Oli's day of bevvying.
Sun is the Monte start.

The reason for the discussion of Saturday start times was the debate over how likely Oli is to be fit to drive to Clydebank by such an early time as 1pm.
