Scam Whiplash Claims
Discussion
Just been involved in 5 MPH scuff coming out of a car-park on Friday, and bingo !!! £1000 whiplash claim from a Merseyside (Newton-Le-Willows) solicitor.
Just when are the insurance companies going to sort this out, we are all paying for it and the lawyers and scammers are making us all look silly.

Its not surprising. When we had a minor prang, the insurance company called us 3 times to ask if we were feeling any neck pains. As the Mrs was pregnant at the time she visited the doctor to make sure everything was OK, and even the doctor suggested claiming for whiplash saying he would sign the whole family off with it!!!
We declined. But in hindsight when I got my insurance renewal through with an increase because of a non-fault accident, I almost wish I'd rinsed them now.

wow... i know you have not taken them up on it, but the fact that they are practically encouraging it makes me sick.We declined. But in hindsight when I got my insurance renewal through with an increase because of a non-fault accident, I almost wish I'd rinsed them now.

Yep, I couldn't believe it at the time. But reading now how (supposedly) insurers get commission by forwarding their non-fault claim details on to no-win-no-fee lawyers, it makes much more sense. My insurer pretty much wanted me to screw over the 3rd parties insurer just so they could make a quick buck.As for my wifes doctor encouraging her to make a claim, I have no idea what his motive was.
I had a dozy bint crash into me on a roundabout a while back then try and claim whiplash and that it was my fault. Prudential were my insurance company at the time and I was pleased greatly when they, essentially, told her to f
k off or see them in court. She dropped it and admitted fault.
k off or see them in court. She dropped it and admitted fault. When i had a crash a few years ago i had calls form a couple of companies asking if i was injured. Even the insurance company saying "are you sure you have no neck pain, well if you're sure, give us a call if any develops in the next few days"
Mind you its not surprising, i see comments on forums, on facbook etc when someone has had had an accident along the lines of "gunna claim whiplash m8??1??!?" and "easy 5k m8!!!!!1! lulz"
