Porsche depreciation? That's nothing!!
Discussion
I've just seen a car listed in the trade which is a repeat email of it being listed last week, so clearly it didn't find a trade buyer yet.
It has a 3 pointed star on it and the price new in 2010 was close to £400,000. Trade price now, mileage under 1,000, is much closer to £250,000 than £300,000.
That's a loss that would buy a new Turbo or GT2/3 that you throw away after 2 years!
So I hope that puts things in perspective for anyone that's surprised that their car's worth less than when they bought it - chances are it isn't that bad for the type of car you've had the enjoyment of and is nothing like £150 per mile depreciation!

That is certainly eye watering, but I would bet that the owner is of such a status that they couldn't care less. A mere trifle.
It doesnt really put anything in perspective to me any more than the collapse of Barings Bank.
I am a tight git, and if I can keep my money, I will!

Goose, just out of interest, do you have a little trade list that traders send to each other, or do you look at ads like everyone else.
When I was younger, I remember that black Glasses Guide book that no trader would ever let a member of the public see. Is that still going?
Yes, along with Glass's Guide still going strong, but there are now websites which the 'trade' uses which are 'trade only' subscription. When I was younger, I remember that black Glasses Guide book that no trader would ever let a member of the public see. Is that still going?
