Introducing Borat!!!!
Discussion
Yup, thats right heres Borat of the 2.3 V5 variety,
I got him a few weeks ago as a s
tter to use for work, for half of SOTW money with tax and MOT until May if memory serves me correct,
I didnt expect much TBH, it had done nearly 164,000 miles, needed some work, and it came on the standard 16" Bora wheels, not the Montreal 2s pictures which was unfortunate.
However, what i got was a gem of a car, climate control, auto dim mirror, auto wipers, cd changer, no knocks, squeaks, or clunks whatsoever, it did grind but that was one of the small jobs that required immediate attention,
So far ive done the following
Rear brake pads,
Drivers window regulator
New Battery
Replaced NSF tyre valve
Refitted engine plastics
Thorough clean inside and out
Still to do
Remove the V5 badge fron the boot
Fit a T to the end of the Bora badge (im being serious)
Refit a standard gearknob, currently has a Passat item fitted
Fit new Elec mirror switch
Find some 17" OEM wheels
Fit some new springs and dampers
Thats about it, for £500 i was going to run it until its MOT was out and break it, however its that bloody good i think id struggle to get anything better
Heres some pictures of Borat

£500, and it has cost me a total of £550 in its current almost fully rectified state, a truly terrific buy. It sounds great too, the exhaust isnt original, i think it may be a GSF type replacement part and it has a bark not unlike my MK4 R32 had with a milltek fitted, cant be bad.
Fuel economy is aout 25mpg average, i only live 4 miles from work so its irrelevant really

Been very tempted by these, the vr5 engines sound cracking too! Very Quattro - esque with the VR twist to it!
Do you really only get 25mpg out oft too OP? Surely they can crack a low 30 mpg driven a bit lightly!
Nice car though and a good price! Enjoy

On the way to work, yeah roughly 25mpg, but its only a 4 mile journey, 30mpg is available when im going a little further and its warmed up properly Do you really only get 25mpg out oft too OP? Surely they can crack a low 30 mpg driven a bit lightly!

ahhh another Borat!
really like these recently since a mate got hold of one for silly money,Bit of a project car, think he`s going back to his younger days, riding on coil-overs and now a very nice set of polished wheels, pretty fun car for what it is. oh and it has the same name as yours
Wouldnt mind actually getting hold of a V6 4motion one of these in the future as a daily.
