Hi All

I'm going to be getting a new carpet set very shortly for my Chim, and while I'm at it sorting some other problems at the same time.

I am after any advice or experience if there is something that should be done while i'm at it.

There is a drain somewhere and the stereo is wired in badly.

My plan while I'm doing the carpet is to rewire the stereo, fit new JL Audio front speakers, move the battery to the boot and move the fuse box behind the passenger seat.
while the door cards are off i'm going to grease the windows to increase speed up/down.

Thanks

Brett

oh also i'm planning on going megasquirt in the near future, fuel and ignition, is it worth any extra wiring laying under the carpet while it's all out?

There are quite a few forum topics on all the above.

There are a number of potential sources for battery drains, so search the last 4-5 pages of posts, and then hunt them down with a passion. You don't have to live with a battery that constantly dies.

I seem to recall several people complaining about the original stereos and wiring.
Leaving the faceplate on seems to be a source of battery drain as well IIRC (mine has been off for years).

Again, many posts on megasquirt on Chimaeras so search away!
SILICONEKID usually jumps in asap any time megasquirt is mentioned. Is he away or something? biggrin

Aye, as long as the insurance is not affected by suddenly having no factory immobiliser and/or alarm.
