I have just purchased my first Porsche. It is a 08 bolster. Very very pleased with it. I have a couple of questions for you all.

- The car is under a Porsche approved warranty, and I have noticed that one of the wheels have a spot of corrosion on it. Do you guys recon this will be covered under warranty? The car only has 14k miles so minimal use.

- what do you clean the soft top material with? I have the full Zymol kit but it does not have anything in it for that.

- also reading the manual it suggests not warming the car in stationary position! Strange I have never seen this before.

People's thoughts would be appreciated.

Congratulations on the purchase! Regards the above, it is best too set off almost immediately and warm up gently whilst driving so that the engine is under load. Leaving a cold engine idling increases wear due to the pistons flapping about in the bores and causes uneven heat spots to generate.

Thats my understanding.

Try Autoglym fabric hood cleaner, should cost about £20ish.

Congrats on your new "bolster" biggrin

You could try your local opc with the corrosion to you wheel rim, but don't hold your breath.

Congrats on your new seat!

If it's under warranty - go for everything you can, while you can!

As regards the roof - it's best not to get it wet (unnecessarily) when you clean the car. Sounds obvious but is hard not to do!
You'll see a significant improvement just by hoovering it from time to time with the small brush attachment that most hoovers have, but I used Renovo "Soft Top Reviver" to clean it and and then their "Ultra Proofer" to provide the water proofing (after 2 applications, it beads just like a well polished car). smile
